The purpose of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) is to provide the framework and processes for the safe management of all operations controlled by LeBLANC Communications Australia (LCA)
This management system covers all aspects of LCA's operations and activities, including the action of employees, of the Contractors, Designers, Manufacturers, Suppliers, Importers and other third parties working for LCA. It is divided into specific elements with each element outlining the objectives and expected outcomes in all business operational activities undertaken by LCA.
The OHSMS expected outcomes will provide all personnel (LCA employees, contractors, suppliers, etc) the guidance to develop their procedures and work instructions; thus ensuring that the operations and activities undertaken comply with the direction and philosophy as set out in the LCA OH&S Policy.
The LCA OHSMS is designed specifically to:
o be compliant with the relevant OH&S Legislation e.g State, Territory and Commonwealth;
o be compliant with AS/ NZS 4801 and Safety MAP Edition 4;
o be the base document for all LCA OH&S Policies, Procedures, Standards;
o be consistent with the best practice and procedures relating to LCA Business Groups and support departments;
o be developed with involvement from personnel within LCA; and
o formulate an OH&S Manual that is created by development of the necessary OH&S procedures, work instructions, etc.
It is the responsibility of LCA to develop the procedures, work instructions etc and initiatives to meet these expected outcomes.
As part of the continuous improvement process these expected outcomes are used as part of the audit protocol (SafetyMAP Edition 4 is the desired Audit Tool) to evaluate compliance and assist in developing targeted continuous improvement opportunities.
